so we got up yesterday at 2 AM and got to the church by 3:15 AM. we got to our hotel at 6:45 PM (all central time) so it was a long day. the country os beautiful. lots of mountains and volcanoes! the city is very crowded. the streets are very small (1 car length). The buildings are basically one big building with allies between them. you can tell it’s a 3rd world country. I am excited to see what God will do with us this week. check here for more updates.

Hello everyone! We are so excited to be in Guatemala. The trip was LONG but everything went very smoothly. My favorite part was the bus ride. It is funny, because that was the part of the trip I was imagining would be miserable. But all 4-5 hours of the winding, bumpy drive I was rapt by the view. I am not talking about the features of the earth which, though beautiful served only as the backdrop for what I was really seeing. The people, the villages and cities, all transporting me into a completely different world. It is hard to explain here in a little note, but I can say now that I am quite thankful that God has sent me here, if only to come to this new level of cultural, economic, and social awareness.

• Woke up at 2 am & we have already left the church & headed to the airport. #
• Just dropped @micahfries off at a truckstop, he forgot something really important and had to run home… we are already off to a good start. in reply to micahfries #

I hate snow. I hate cold.  and the past couple of weeks we have had the worst of both…  I can’t wait to be in Guatemala where it will be nice and warm!  I still have a lot to do until then but for now I am excited.  Today (thurs) was my last day in the office and I had a HUGE check list and I got through most of it (at least all the important parts of it).  and the rest will just have to wait until after I get back.  but hopefully I got everything done for SQ 632 and our Dodgeball Rally that I am missing. they will have to do without me for the week.

anyways, if you want to see what I am doing in Guatemala, keep and eye on my twitter, and mainly here.  I will post pics if I have time, but I will be posting updates from there (we will have free wifi at certain places).  so you will hear from me while I am gone.  and I will post pics when I get back I promise.
